War 7 Sunday September 8th, 2002 Intro
Maps
Hellbringer's squad hid in an area of woods to the side of the road to observe the enemy, while Dead Eye and myeself sprinted down a trail that ended up behind the enemy lines (behind green, off the map). When we got to waypoint 1, which was the end of the trail, I checked through my binoculers the house at the end of the neighborhood. Then Chris called in on his walkie talkie, Dead Eye this is yellow mustard (inside joke codename), we have enemy movement coming out of the driveway, it looks like a squad of four." Soon the squad apeared in our site, walking confidently down the driveway out towards the road. Hellbringer's squad then headed back towards Fort Salamandastron through the woods to set up an ambush where the creek meets the road. The enemy was equiping themselves, but it was plainly evident that they were not looking for any sign of us, and were laughing and play fighting among themselves. Then an enemy scout went out on ....a scooter... that was such a sign to us that he wasn't serious so we took a chance and ran from one patch of pines across the long gravel driveway to the other pine thicket near the enemy base. The enemy was going down the driveway when when we called in our position to Hellbringer's Squad. "Yellow Mustard this is Dead Eye, we have enemy movement out of Psycho's driveway, we are going to follw them, prepare for ambush." "Copy that Dead eye, we are waiting for some kills." We ran into the yard and waited until they walked to the end of Hemingway Court and turned a left at Mueller before pursuing them and radioing in the lateset news. We received a signal however warning us, "Dead Eye, the enemy is leaving people behind to make sure nobody is trailing them, I highly advise to abort the current mission." We quickly decided to run back through the woods and reinforce Hellbringer and Dead Eye instead of taking them all on from behind. Just when we were going to assault the enemy we had an accident, Yellow Mustard slipped on the loose gravel going up the hill were the tunnel is and his knee popped out, so we had to call a temporary halt to the battling. Then the enemy had gone back to their fort after negotiaions. This time we performed the same routine, and it came sooo close to working. Yet the enemy stayed on the far side of the road passing the tunnel, and it would have been too risky for Hellbringer to Launch an assault from that side, and it was too late to go under the road/through the tunnel and attack from the other side. This time we ran after them, eager to get some kills. The enemy team took the north path feigning a move towards the pine woods. One thing was suspicious though, their scout was left behind using a CPS 1200, not only that but he was cautiously looking to his sides and slowly backing up. Fearing a mouse trap ambush we did not give in and eventually he ran into the woods. This is when we followed. The enemy team came out at a house across the road from the forest where Fort Salamandastron was, we ran fast down Wynfield drive and headed them off before they reached the road. A battle occured, and the enemy scurried to avoid ambush. I ran right after one grunt who tried to lead me into a whole waiting squad, and narrowly avoided being shot. Dead Eye ran down another grunt with a CPS 1200 nailing him with a 20x blast. Hellbringer's squad followed on the left flank, but the enemy disapeared before he could hit them. Bucaneer gave a follow up, as she had been trailing as rear gaurd with her CPS 1000 looking for a rear assault, saying there was no action in the rear. Soon the enemy had set up a small defence cluster as a road block where the path to Fort Salamandastron meets Mueller Drive, parallel with the sentry outpost we established last winter. War Pictures
