The CPS 2100 is one of the best soakers
released in
a long time. The
CPS
firing chamber gives one a burst of full power with
each shot down to the last, meaning you can pull the trigger and the
gun will release a full stream of water at 100% power until the last
few milliseconds. When I first bought this
thing back in 2002 I was a little
skeptical. It's smaller than the CPS 1200, and a little smaller
than the CPS 1000 even. Boy, was I surprised. The CPS 2100
is a powerful little blaster. It packs the same punch as the CPS
1200 and 1000, only in a smaller size. The 2100's firing chamber
is 3 oz smaller than that of the 1000 and 1200, which means that the
shot time is about half a second shorter as well, but that's not too
much. Because the
firing chamber is rubber (CPS technology) it gives a burst of full
power with
each shot down to the last, meaning you can pull the trigger and the
gun will release a full stream of water at 100% power until the last
few milliseconds. The internals on this
baby are really strong, in fact, the
way this gun is layed out on the inside, and the plastics used to
construct it, is the strongest I've seen out of any soaker...
period! Because of this the CPS 2100 is the most popular gun to
mod, it is rumored that you can add up to 80 balloons on the pressure
chamber of this thing! As mentioned previously, the rubber firing
chamber is a little on the small side, but it is completely
interchangable with firing chambers from CPS 1000s, 1200s, 1500s,
1700s, and 2700s. Since it is interchangable some people have
taken firing chambers from other guns and used them on the CPS
2100. I believe that Duxburian of Super Soaker Media invented
this mod. This doesn't give the 2100 a larger firing chamber, but
a more powerful one.
Another great thing about this gun is the guided pump. You can't
see this in my picture because mine broke. Not because the 2100
is a fragile gun, but just because mine has been through many wars and
intense battle situations. If there is anything bad about this
gun it has to be the capacity. It has about 15 oz less capacity
than the CPS 1200 and 10 oz less than the CPS 1000. That
translates into at least more full shot. Commandos using 2100s
will have to be smart when chosing their targets, lest they run out of
water too quickly. I've seen n00bs get excited and waste and
unload an entire reservoir in under a minute. Be smart, this gun
has great range and power (especially when modded), you can afford to
be careful when chosing your shots. This gun also needs a strap,
but that's easy to add on.
Pros: Powerful,
great range, easy to mod, small
Cons: No strap, little
capacity
